Business Customers Committee

Committee deals with typical issues related to the provision of services and lending to business customers.

Key functions:

  • Relevant problem solving faced by the members of the association in their activities, serving business customers;
  • Providing proposals for legislation development related to the provision of services and lending to business customers;
  • Representing members of the Association while drafting documents with the relevant institutions.

Financial Markets Committee

Committee analyses the development opportunities of the Lithuanian capital market.

Key functions:

  • Contribution to the development of financial market in Lithuania;
  • Solving typical common problems that members of the Association are facing in their activities when operating in the financial markets;
  • Proposing legislative amendments related to the development of financial markets;
  • Representing members of the Association while drafting documents with the relevant institutions.

Financial Literacy Committee

Committee prepares a general strategy for financial literacy development, initiates projects in this field and their dissemination.

Key functions:

  • Analysis of the best practices of the financial education in the sector;
  • Setting the priorities of the Association, promoting the development of financial literacy;
  • Representing members of the Association in development and coordination of financial education activities with institutions and other partners.

Communication Committee

Communication Committee ensures effective public information related to actual issues of banking sector.

Key functions:

  • Public information on current banking issues.
  • Public education on various banking issues.
  • Coordination of banking activities related to public awareness and education.
  • Internal and external banks communication.
  • Formulation of united position of banks.

Compliance Committee

Examines current banking issues related to banking activities in compliance with legal requirements.

Key functions:

  • Assess the impact of legislative regulation on banking activities.
  • Provides proposals of banking law amendments related to banking activities compliance with other legislation.
  • Solves relevant problems related to the banking activities compliance with the legal requirements.
  • Coordinates banking activities related to its compliance with the legal requirements.

Consumer Affairs Committee  

Key functions:

  • Public education on various banking issues.
  • Reduction of financial exclusion.
  • Providing of proposals of legislative amendments related to consumer issues.

Cybersecurity Committee

Committee contributes to the maturity of cybersecurity in the financial sector. 

Key functions

  • Cooperation on the transposition of European legislation (DORA Regulation, NIS 2 Directive, etc.), exchange of information on the European Banking Federation's cybersecurity dialogue. 
  • Addresses relevant issues that the members of the Association face in their activities in the field of cybersecurity.  
  • As a trusted community of financial sector entities, the members of the Committee exchange information on potential cyber threats with each other in order to strengthen the resilience of financial sector entities' digital activities, to raise awareness of cyber threats and to limit the potential for cyber threats to spread.  
  • The Committee actively cooperates with the Bank of Lithuania and the National Cyber Security Centre.  
  • Proposes amendments to legislation related to cybersecurity activities. 

Legal Committee

The Coordination Committee considers, analyzes and makes decisions on issues of banks to ensure communication and effective exchange of information between the Association and it's members.

Key functions:

  • Prepares and corrects the strategy and action plan of Association, organizes it's realization.
  • Forms working groups of specialists delegated by Association members and controls activity of these groups.
  • Approves projects prepared by working groups and, if necessary, submits for approval to the members meeting.
  • Represents the views of Association members presenting prepared projects of documents in competent institutions.
  • Each member of the Coordination Committee ensures communication and efficient exchange of information between Association and Association’s member who’s delegated him.

Financial Crime Prevention Committee

Financial Crime Prevention Committee examines current banking issues related to the prevention of money laundering in banks.

Key functions:

  • Co-ordinates the activities of banks, related to money laundering.
  • Decides problems which face banks in the performance of money laundering prevention.
  • Provides proposals of legislative amendments concerning the prevention of money laundering.

Leasing Committee

The Committee examines current leasing sector issues related to leasing services in banks and leasing companies.

Key functions:

  • Coordinates activities of banks and leasing companies in connection with leasing services.
  • Solves the current problems, which banks and leasing companies face in their work providing leasing services.
  • Provides legislative proposals for amendments concerning the leasing activity.
  • Represents the views of the Association members presenting the projects of documents in competent institutions.

Payment Committee

Key functions:

  • Solves questions and coordinates projects related to payment service.

Economists Working Group

Key functions:

  • Analyzes the upcoming material of European Banking Federation economists group and values the (macro) economic and financial developments, which affect banking sector;
  • Provides views on current economic and monetary policy for Association of Lithuanian Banks and, if needed, for European Central Bank, the European Banking Federation, Lithuanian public authorities and other relevant bodies;
  • The Group elected representative represents the views of Association of Lithuanian Banks in its activity in European Banking Federation Chief Economists Group, exchanges information on issues discussed with members of the Association of Lithuanian Banks;
  • Contributes to the Association ongoing communication of priority issues, requiring a deeper economic and monetary policy analysis, and contributes to raising awareness of the Association of Lithuanian Banks.

MiFID II Working Group

Key functions:

  • Solves questions and coordinates suggestions related to transposition of Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (II) (MiFID II) into national law.

Personal Data Protection Working Group

Key functions:

  • Solves questions and coordinates suggestions related to realization of General Data Protection Regulation.

PSD2 Working Group

Key functions:

  • Solves questions and coordinates suggestions related to the transposition of the Second Payment Services Directive (PSD2) into national law.
